DEsigning Geo-Locative Games

9/12/2017

Game Design Fail? Something to think about when designing mobile, geo-locative games: how responsible are you for maintaining player's safety when your game-space is also real space?
Picture
A phone's lock screen, showing two emergency alerts for "Hurricane Warnings in Area," followed by a Pokemon Go Alert, urging the player to go outside and explore local parks, as new/different Pokemon may be appearing. Time stamps suggest these alerts occurred within an hour of each other.

Course Piazza and Slack Set up

8/23/2017

Per requests in today's class, we've set up a course piazza via T-Square, and a course Slack channel. You should have received invitations to the Slack channel from Linda this evening. As well, the schedule has been updated to reflect the vlog as limited to Alto's Adventures, rather than Alto's Adventures and Two Dots. I'll look for those on Sunday, via the T-Square dropbox feature.
